arbitratour: (I don't wanna hold you back now love)

[ Jae's ready to block the attack, shifting back on one foot to raise his hands up -

But the black wolf jumps between them before Jae can react, only to get knocked away with a whimper. This was bad. This was ... really bad. He knows what he needs to do, but even with his face shifting to more demonic features, the conflict is surely there on it. ]

I ...

[ He doesn't want to do this. This is a situation that they never thought would happen in the first place. Why Amaterasu decided to seek out the reaper here, and to taunt Jaehyuk with what she had done with him.

Perhaps this was part of his punishment for becoming a demon. Or even further back, becoming a vampire. After all, he wasn't supposed to be like this - not part of the undead, and certainly not a demon after the fact. He knew he'd have to face it one day. He just wasn't expecting it to be so soon.

He clenches his fists, jaw set. He can see the fire, how it's slowly consuming Haruto. He never deserved any of this. His gaze flickers back to where Skoll is laying, and he speaks again, toward the demigod. ]

Let me handle this. Please.

[ And even despite the fact that he himself felt like he was on fire, he could feel the trickle of something running down his face. He nods slowly. He had to do this. Not just to save those that would be affected by Haruto's rampage should continue like this.

No.

He had to do this to save Haruto's own soul, as ironic as it may sound, coming from a demon. His voice is pitched lower and warped, much like how it was when he had talked to Amaterasu, demanding to know what had happened, but instead of being tinged with rage, it was something more alongside it.

Sorrow. Heartbreak. ]

This isn't right. You never deserved this, Haruto.

[ He begins to walk forward, ignoring how his steps created temporary molten pools before re-solidifying and how tears were streaking down his face. ]

You were the one that was to bring me back should I let my rage drown out my consciousness. I was supposed to have come and met you decades ago.

But I suppose with the way things have turned out so far, that I shouldn't expect things to go the way we planned.

[ He stops a few feet in front of the creature that his friend has become, before he takes a breath. ]

Forgive me, my friend.

[ It's then that he lets out another roar, rearing back before he charges forward, claws extended and aiming to pin Haruto down before delivering a swift blow to end this before it got more messy. The roles have reversed, his heart feels like it's being torn in two, but if there was one thing he had learned as a leader, it was that there were times where he had to put his needs and feelings aside for the greater good.

Even if it would slowly kill him from the inside out. ]
